Overview of the service

We aim to do your grocery shopping for your stay in Val d’Isère or Tignes (the “Village”). We buy the items at better prices than you will generally be able to find in the Village and share this saving with you.

To order, you will book a delivery slot, select the groceries that you would like, let us have some information about yourself (contact and delivery address details) and then pay for approximately 75% of the value of the order by credit or debit card.

You will need to pay the balance of the amount due, calculated after we know whether there were any unavailable items, together with the delivery charge of €5, in cash (in Euros) on delivery.

There is a minimum order value of €50 (excluding the delivery charge).

Orders from residents or seasonnaires for the additional shopping packs advertised in the Village also be made over the phone to 06 24 09 20 09. Payment for such orders will be in cash in full on delivery.

Unavailable items / Substitutions

Of course, we will try to complete your order as fully as possible, but there may be times when we cannot get the exact item or quantity that you requested. Where an item is not available we will aim to substitute it with something else that we would have chosen if we were doing our own shopping. It is possible, therefore, that the substitute item(s) may not appear on our product list – for example, a different joint of meat.

If a substitution is made, we will try to make sure that the replacement item is of an equivalent (or more expensive) brand, where appropriate, or cost per kg in the case of fresh food.

Where something is not available and there is not, in our opinion, an appropriate substitute, we will not make a purchase and you will not be charged for the item. An inability to source any single item in an order will not affect the rest of the order.

Taking delivery

When you place an order, you will select a delivery ‘slot’. If you become aware that you’re not going to be able to be there for the delivery due to circumstances out of your control – for example, your plane is late and you’re not going to be in the Resort – please let us know by telephone on +33 (0)6 24 09 20 09 as soon as possible and we will re-arrange a delivery time.

Once we’ve agreed when you would like the delivery, please make sure that you are at the agreed address at the agreed time. Please also ensure that the contact telephone details that you have given us are with you. If we try to deliver your order but there is nobody to collect it, we will contact you to agree a revised delivery time. Such rescheduled deliveries will incur an additional ‘re-delivery’ charge of €25.

If you have any problem with the goods delivered, please let us know immediately. We will not take responsibility for the condition of the goods delivered if you do not inform us of your concerns at the time of delivery or if we have had to reschedule the delivery.

Price guarantee

We are confident that, over all, our prices will save you money compared to shopping in the Resort supermarkets. If our total price for the goods that you have purchased (excluding the delivery charge) is more than you find that you could have bought the same items in one of the Village high street supermarkets (the Spar or Casino), we’ll refund twice the difference.

To claim this refund, you must:

  1. have placed, and paid for, an order with us;
  2. compare the prices of the total shopping basket, not individual items (which may, for instance, be on a promotional offer in a Village supermarket);
  3. use the prices from any one of the Village supermarkets for all of the items on an exact ‘like for like’ basis; and
  4. find the cheaper prices in a Village supermarket within 5 days of taking delivery of your order

Bad weather / circumstances beyond our control

We want to do your shopping. However, there may be times when access to the Village is difficult as a result of bad weather or other circumstances beyond our control (including, but not limited to, fire, flood, other acts of God, breakdown of equipment, escaped wild animals, accidents or road traffic problems) and no guarantee can be made that deliveries will be possible in such circumstances.

Where we are aware of such circumstances prior to your placing an order, no order will be taken.

Where such circumstances arise between your ordering (and paying for a significant part of the order cost) and our attempted delivery, we will hold the goods and deliver as soon as is possible thereafter. When delivery is subsequently made, we will agree with you whether there are any items that are damaged that you no longer wish to purchase. We will refund the cost of any such agreed items.

Privacy

In order to complete your order we will require certain personal information from you: your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and credit / debit card details. This information is used solely to process your order and to contact you should there be a need to clarify an order or change any details.

We will not sell, rent or transfer this information to other parties.

Legal and general

Please note that we make no representations that any items ordered do not contain nut products or are suitable for vegetarian or other dietary requirements.

This service and the web site are operated by Snowman’s Larder Limited (“we”, “our” or “us”). Snowman’s Larder Limited is registered in England and Wales, company number 6042250.

Our liability for whatever reason will be limited to the value of your order.

These terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be resolved under the jurisdiction of the English courts.
